1 CORINTHIANS 12:4-6
There are different kinds of gifts, but the same
Spirit distributes them. There
are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but in
all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
Class Assignment – Semester One- Vendor Show
STARTING OUT
Name your Business Booth
Describe yourself and your business in one
paragraph.
Send/ describe pictures of a few items you plan on featuring
Jot down links to your site (for crafters no
worries)
Will you need an 8' table or 6' table? (Only
tables are provided)
GETTING
PREPARED
Money spent.
Supplies, material and packaging
Add cost together divide by volume to produce a
breakeven price.
Decide your mark up.
Example: The cost plus the markup percentage multiplied
by the cost. Suppose the cost of the item is $25 and you are using a markup of
60 percent. Multiply $25 times 60 percent. This give you $15. Add $15 to $25,
which yields a selling price of $40
Jot pricing here to get an idea:
Tags & Packaging:
Insure
your price tags match (uniform) and look professional. Are you supplying a bag
after purchase? How will you complete your purchases/invoicing? Do you take
cash (cash box)? Venmo? PayPal? Checks?
Vendor Table:
Set up your table BEFORE you go to the vendor event, to know how long it takes to set up and take down. Shows will usually have a time frame in which you are able to set up your booth. Make sure you have all the tools to set up your table, and to transport them from your car to the facility.
Displays:
Example:
Paris Themed with a touch of Christmas for Ladies 22-99. Touch hearts with a
pretty display wanting clients to yearn for Paris and the Eiffel Tower.
What
is your GIVE AWAY at your booth? Be sure whatever you are giving away, is
exciting, so that people will want to enter to win but also Very VISIBLE
to draw people to your booth.
This
is if you want to donate an item for our give away booth.
Social Media:
Are you integrating social media into your event? If not, you should! Promote your booth and sales before, during and after your event to make it even more successful (“Can’t visit me at my booth? Be sure to still get your name in the draw to win this awesome prize!”)
Signage:
What
kind of signage will you have at your event? Are you easy to find?
Will your signage draw people in?
Day of Event:
What
is your outfit going to look like and are you promoting your booth while you
walk around? Will you have someone helping you man your booth so you can
walk around or take a bathroom break? The café will be open.
Do
you have a calculator? Receipts? Tape? Scissors?
Be
sure your booth is comfortable and has personality! Attraction and warm
smile is key. You have to have a people person personality on that day/ night
to shine. You could have the prettiest booth yet if your personality doesn’t
match – people will avoid the booth. Understanding your why? To make extra
cash? Going from hobby to business? To do this occasionally? Give a service to
the community? Every WHY is different?
Note: FOLLOW UP WITH ALL YOUR CLIENTS! – Be sure you
have a way of collecting your visitors information. If you give out
a sample, take a business card, or have them fill out a form.

After the Show:
What did you learn from this experience? What
would you keep the same or change?
Was it profitable? Did you lose money yet gain
future prospects? Forget important items? Feel supported? Support others? Did I
have fun and did I honor God with your business practices, your thoughts, small
group and community?
