Taken on my IPHONE.
Welcome to my little Blogging Corner of the World. I started this blog in September 2010!. Thank you for visiting my quirky life with pictures, budgeting tips, foodie recommendations, make up favorites and more. They say we should find our niche and stick to it. My mind doesn’t work like that because I like all the things. I have a feeling there’s many just like me.

Rachel's Junk in the Trunk, not in a Kim Kardashian Junk Fashion
Love Trunks! When I first set out to creat a blog,I was going to alot of garage sales. My back trunk would get filled with items hence the name "Rachel's Junk in the Trunk". Most see the name and automatically think something in a Kim Kardashion sort of fashion. Nope. Just a lover of trunks. |

Key Lime Oreo Truffles from Wishes and Dishes
Key Lime Oreo Truffles
INGREDIENTS:
One 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened to room temperature
3 cups graham cracker crumbs (I used a mini food processor or buy the crumbs in a box)
4 cups (1 lb, 2 oz pkg) Golden Oreos, crushed (I used a mini food processor to crush)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Nellie and Joe’s Key Lime Juice
2 pounds white chocolate candy discs or white chocolate chips, melted
3 cups graham cracker crumbs (I used a mini food processor or buy the crumbs in a box)
4 cups (1 lb, 2 oz pkg) Golden Oreos, crushed (I used a mini food processor to crush)
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup Nellie and Joe’s Key Lime Juice
2 pounds white chocolate candy discs or white chocolate chips, melted
*colored sprinkles or coarse sugar would be a great for garnish (optional)
DIRECTIONS:
In the bowl of an electric mixer, beat the cream cheese until smooth.
Beat in the Oreo and graham cracker crumbs, lime juice and flour. Stick them in fridge for 30 minutes or so until they become firm.
Line a cookie sheet with foil. Roll dough into balls with the palm of your hands and place on the cookie sheet. Put in the freezer for 30-45 minutes.
Dip into melted white chocolate and decorate with green sugar, green frosting, white chocolate dyed green, graham cracker crumbs, colored sprinkles,…anything you wish!

Christmas in Williamsburg 300 Family Traditions
Wanted to share this beautiful book with lovely pictures. This explains the celebration of Christmas down through the centuries and how the holidays evolved in America. It also explains the re-enactments in Williamsburg, Virginia and how many tourists come each year to experience Christmas there. A few crafts and recipes are included.
It's always nice to read the history of Christmas traditions. Wouldn't it be nice for everyone to write and create their own traditions book to share with children and the grandchildren? Do you have traditions or find yourself just getting through the holidays? Julia and I are at the point where we figure a pizza and movie is more our speed. We've been alone the past 2 Christmas',we've started our own Mommie and Me tradition. It's cheaper and drama free.
We do love going to Christmas service at Skyline Church. Worshipping, singing and counting all our blessings!
Whatever traditions you follow and experience may you cherish those memories and write them down, pass them along ,starting your own traditions book!
Happy Holidays!
