Hot Flash Splash Spray

Ok, this started off as a joke @ work. With the summer weather upon us, I could never tell if I was having a hot flash, onset of a migraine or just simply  the summer heat. I would shout out "Oh,oh I'm having a hot flash......This went on for several days?weeks? Then one day while packing Julia for 6th grade camp, I came across her plastic travel bottles, it suddenly hit me, put water in one of the bottles, slip it in the freezer for an hour and ....WHAAAA LAAAA.........A cool dash of cool water! It really worked, I happily sprayed cold water on my arms, face ,wrist then forehead. It was easy and inexpensive. I added a sticker to give it a hint of fashion flair. I joked how I would market then and call the bottles "HOT FLASH SPLASH" ......

WHAT NO LIPSTICK?

Ok so someone asked me if my profile was an up to date picture of me. Not sure why and I didn't ask. I thought about it and realized it was actually 5 years old. I decided to capture a quick picture to appease my blogger friend. I then realized, how I must be getting older and looks must not matter as much to me. Like before in my 20's & 30's. Not that I walk around, not caring ,dressing in rags with unkempt hair yet it's not as important to me. My defining moment when I realized that I must be getting older ? Posting a picture without any lipstick  for all the world to see........It''s actually liberating........ Drum roll please.................

Wedgewood Plate with a story

Found this Wedgewood Plate at an Estate Sale. Love the pretty light blue and intricate white filigree design.

I turned the plate around in search for a price tag. To my surprise there was note with the following inscription:
                                   CHRISTMAS 1975
These Wedewood plates were given to Vivian and I on our 33rd .Wedding Anniversay, May 16th.1964 while on our Carribbean Cruise on the Grace Lines Santa Paula by 4 women who sat at the same table with us in the Dining Room. Their names were Mrs.Anne White, Mrs.Sally Kulkis, Mrs.Muriel Lord and Janie Buford. They became real good friends and we correspond on every Christmas. We would like you to have these Jack & Gail for your keepsakes.

Isn't it amazing that someone took the time to write down the names of the 4 woman from the Carribbean Cruise? I'm intriqued how Gail and her Husband married 33 years back in 1964 which would have them married in 1931???. That was 36 years ago! Here this little plate is now displayed for Blogging and sits proudly in my living room.

My Little Garden Patch

This is my first hand at gardening. All my family and friends garden yet I always felt too impatience or didn't want to get dirty.Thoughts of dirt under my nails didn't feel appealing. Yet, Mother nature has been calling, so to speak. Lately there's been several yard sales with garden type items. A few weeks ago I bought my first gardening hat and it gave me the wanna be green thumb vibe. Being a novice, I hurried and planted  without reading the directions.  I may have possibly mixed the seeds so who knows what may grow. Hey,maybe I created a new plant or vegetable? No matter what grows, it's my own  little unique garden. Can't wait to hit the yard sales tomorrow to add a little more.
