Welcome to my little Blogging Corner of the World. I started this blog in September 2010!. Thank you for visiting my quirky life with pictures, budgeting tips, foodie recommendations, make up favorites and more. They say we should find our niche and stick to it. My mind doesn’t work like that because I like all the things. I have a feeling there’s many just like me.

Money Making Mom by Crystal Paine
M
Ever come across a book that resonates to the bone ? That's exactly what happened this afternoon during a break at church. Came across New York Times bestselling Author Crystal Paine book, Money Making Mom . How every woman can earn more and make a difference.
Listen to this on page 12. Maybe you are a single mom and juggling three jobs for chump change is simply not cutting it. Then it goes to ask what does financial freedom mean to you. To think about it . To really think about it. This stopped me in my tracks because after completing Financial Peace University last summer, I'm reminded of the basic principles of budgeting. I still continue budgeting however it's always so discouraging with the three jobs and still struggling. I'll write a series soon in what Julia and I have recently done and changes we are planning .
Do you do a monthly budget?
Any changes brewing?
Are Holidays stressing you out?

Imperfectly Happy
via: http://imperfectlyhappy.com/amish-life/
For a little over a week, I've been living in a motorhome without electricity.
For a little over a week, I've been living in a motorhome without electricity.
We are in between moving and it's amazing how resilient you become. From using candles, showering at the gym, eating out and basically just making do to sleeping in new surroundings while insuring your not attacked by neighboring coyotes . Overall, it's been an adventure.
What adventures have you been on lately? Or would like to be?
I'm imperfectly happy. Are you?

When Nutella Sustains me
What is your go to item?
With the move and not taking time off this has been a hard season. I used to find comfort in worldly things yet as I am older I see the simple things giving me comfort. Quiet time for prayer and Jesus. Connecting with friends. Green tea and coffee.
Nutella. This has been my go to place.
Yummy.

Starbucks Stress Diet
How are your eating habits? How are you encouraged? Refreshed?
I noticed during this move I haven't been eating right. I'm actually calling this my Starbucks Stress Diet. Not having electricity in the motorhome while waiting for the trailer relocation there hasn't been a kitchen available. I count this Iced Pumpkin Spice as 2 meals. I'll eat dinner somewhere. It's amazing how we adapt and become resilient to our surroundings. This moving season has been wrapped in the enemy trying every thing imaginable to circumvent this a a smooth transition. This adventure started 3 months ago and it's finally coming to fruition. God is good. We are blessed.
The Skyline Slimdown Class featuring the book Made to Crave class is starting up again next week at our church. Getting back to food basics and a routine will be encouraging and refreshing.
New Season, New Beginnings
While in transition in our moving adventure Julia and I have stayed in different places while the trailer was ready to be placed in its new home. Through God and new found friends we are moving to an area I've missed. Jamul, CA.
Julia's resume will include Nanny and I, her assistant. Not sure how much I can share since we will be with a family who I'm sure would want anonymity and rightly so. I'll share pictures and adventures with keeping privacy in mind. I'm still keeping my other 2 jobs at church and gun shop so there will be lots to talk about.
What are your new adventures? Anything in the horizon?

Autumn Drink Happiness
My first Autumn drink of the season. Iced Tall Pumpkin Spice. Is it wrong to wish it was a little sweeter? Can't believe it's September!
Julia started her first week at SDSU. Learned a lot about financial aide. The red tape involved to prove she was my dependent when she was actually 17 deemed absurd to me however you are at their mercy. It cost $860 to just start a payment plan. In retrospect things are worse in other areas of the country. We count our blessings. A lot of changes this season.
What are looking forward to this season? How do you take your coffee? Sit down with me and let's talk ❤️

The Maxwell Leadership Bible
Doing a little nighttime reading. Reviewing The Maxwell leadership Bible. It's lessons in leadership from the word of God by John C Maxwell. My daughter Julia gave me this Bible a few years ago and I still read it to this day.
Right now I am perusing page 67, on when God chooses a Leader.
It reveals how Moses provided a great case study on how God calls a Leader out of a crowd to perform an assignment.
Here are 8 key components:
1. He gives a leader an emotional investment in the work.
2. God affirms leaders through others.
3. God gives the leaders mentors.
4. God builds on leaders strength, experiences and background .
5. God often refines the leaders character in obscurity.
6 God instilled in the Leader the value of hard work .
7. God sustains that leader with the powerful vision.
And lastly 8. God brings others along side the leader to compensate for their weaknesses.
Pretty good stuff, right?
Are you in any form of Leadership?
If so, In what capacity ?

The Turquoise Table by Kristen Schell
I am so excited that I finally added this book to my budget . The Turquoise Table by Kristen Schell . It's based on finding community and connection in your own front yard .
Whats really neat is the recipes and cute pictures.
Spicy Pecans
Kristen Schell was consumed with a busy life and she was not sure how to slow down. She had a desire to connect with her community . Her book gives the step-by-step on how to accomplish stress-free ideas for kick-starting your own turquoise table simple. Plus, recipes to take outside and share with others. Stories from people using turquoise tables in their neighborhoods . Giving encouragement to overcome barriers that may keep you from connecting . Pondering new ways to view hospitality.
It's amazing how community and friendship are waiting just outside our front doors . Today turquoise tables are inviting individuals to connect with each other and nearly all 50 states and in seven countries. Ordinary people like us wanted to make a difference right where we live.
I love this book cover , love the color it's so eye-catching . The contents is full of amazing ideas to find a sense of commonality , in your own home. I'm so happy I placed purchasing the book into my monthly budget. You will not be disappointed!
