January 15, 2022- Saturday Declutter Crew Week 2 of January.

Half way through the month and how do you feel? Defeated? Positive? Discouraged ? Motivated? Wherever you are at , it’s your path, your way. However, like anything in life, you are going to get out of this project, what you put into it. You could start in any room of your house, yet take note of which room we are in, as you know, January is bedroom month.

Have you made any progress? For me, I am more mindful of my sleeping area. I feel good that I’ve kept it relatively clean and organized. The next 2 weeks I am concentrating on my 360 degree view of my room. All 4 corners. My bedroom square. I have so many boxes to get rid of. About 10 banker boxes of crafts and body shop products, from vendor shows and my Friday Freebies. Lots of misc items that I have to part with or start using. It’s not easy getting rid of things. I’m always thinking I’ll use it someday. But then years go by. In fact, how many years have you been in the bedroom you are in currently? For me, 2.5 years. Yet, a few months is enough time to collect and store too many items. I can imagine for those who have lived such a longer time in their bedrooms. Do you have things longer than 5 years? 10 years? If so, what is it and why? Are they sentimental items? Or you love routine and want things to be the same? Try changing something, we’ll anything this week. See the shift, be the shift. Do something simple or do something daring.

Just do something DIFFERENT.

Let me know how it goes.

Change it up.

Work on the four corners of your bedroom in the next 2 weeks.

January 9, 2022- Saturday Declutter Crew Week 1 of January.

 Week 2 of January.

Still wondering how to start organizing  when you don’t want to start in your bedroom or think you can’t change your behavior of messiness or being a clutter bug or even a bit hoarder -like ?

When you go to sleep tonight. Lay down and look around. Do you see things that really don’t belong within 3 feet of your pillow? What surrounds you? What would you WANT to change? Are you comfortable where you sleep? What would a visitor think of your bedroom? How hard would it be to set an alarm for 30 minutes to change a few things?Even 15 minutes a day until it feels like it represents a sanctuary to sleep, read and dream.

What was your bedroom like as a child?  Do you recall  your earliest bedroom memory? Mine was a Princess bedroom set with every piece of furniture matching. It had a pretty canopy - Victorian like. It is so opposite of what I slept in now.

Does your bedroom have a theme? Does it represent your style ? What would you change? What would you keep?

This second week be intentional of doing SOMETHING different in your bedroom .

Jot down 3 things you want to change.  Then give yourself a week to do the change. If you can’t do this - what is stopping you ?

Be intentional and focused.

January 1, 2022- Saturday Declutter Crew First Day

January 1, 2022- Saturday Declutter Crew

January is a month to pay attention to where you sleep and it’s surroundings. Lay in your bed and look around. Be still and Breathe. What do you see? What do you feel? What looks like it doesn’t belong? What feels cozy?

For me, I sleep on a sofa bed right smack in the living room. I see my journal /junk corner. My secretary desk with lots of decor and pictures. Imagine it a store front - would you love what you see? What parts would you display differently?

This assignment is for an entire month be intentional where you sleep. Clear the clutter. Rearrange - get rid of - clean- donate or trash. Clean and decorate as if you were having a grand opening at your very own store.

This exercise is 30 days long and we will check in every Saturday.

No need to spend money, work with what you have. If you live with others ask their input.
Mainly ask yourself, how do you want to represent your storefront to your self?

At the end of the month we will discuss more on how you did, what blockages surfaced.

Or if you didn’t need to change a thing?

Talk next week.

Start today.

Set a timer for 10 minutes or more and straighten out to start. Increase it each day to get a routine.

Write down a plan on what you want to change. You have 30 days. You can do it.

Reading Cozy White Cottage Seasons 100 Ways to be Cozy all year long by Liz Marie Galvan.

My intention is to one day implement these suggestions once I’m organized myself. I have way too much around me. I’m working these steps, too. Let’s cheer one another on.

This is my before picture. I suggest you take one, too. You need to see progress for this to work. Like anything in life. You will get out of it what you put into it.

I’m writing, journaling and this looks like a hot mess, there are things  I so need  to work on. I’m doing this with you .

I totally need to clean the bottom of my desk area and add a comfy chair.

So the 30 days begins.
Don’t forget to take your before pictures!
